Our purpose

We are passionate about protecting and restoring natural habitats and enabling wildlife to flourish in their rightful place, both in the UK and across the globe.

The UK government has a statutory target to restore or create more than 500,000 hectares of wildlife-rich habitat outside of protected sites by 2042. We believe Beavers are the key to success.

The Eurasian Beaver is native to the UK and Europe, due to hunting and trapping in the middle ages beaver populations were decimated, and beaver's all but extinct in Europe by the 16th century.

Starting in the early 21st century beaver populations have been re- introduced into the UK. Benefits include wetland creation & habitat restoration, increased biodiversity and carbon sequestration. 

In 2025/26 we are proud to support Beaver Trust. All work undertaken by Wild & Free will contribute to supporting this amazing charity.
